Cloris Leachman’s cause of death was a stroke

Only a few weeks after Cloris Leachman passed away, her cause of death was revealed.

The 94-year-old actress died of a stroke, according to Entertainment Tonight. COVID-19 was also mentioned as a major condition that contributed to her death, but which was not the underlying cause.

A representative for the San Diego medical examiner did not immediately return Page Six’s request.

The star of ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ was cremated on February 7 and her remains are kept in her daughter Dinah Englund’s home in Encinitas, California.

The beloved Oscar winner passed away on January 27, her longtime manager Juliet Green confirmed to Page Six at the time.

“It was my privilege to work with Cloris Leachman, one of the most fearless actresses of our time,” Green told Page Six in a statement. “There was no one like Cloris. With a single glance, she had the ability to break your heart or make you laugh until the tears ran down your face. You never knew what Cloris would say or do and that the unpredictable quality was part of her unparalleled magic. ”

Green added that she “loved her children and her grandchildren immensely” and was “a lifelong vegetarian” and a passionate advocate for animal rights. ‘

Leachman died at her home with Englund by her side.
