Clint Frazier responds to false rumors about Yankees-Reds

It would not be an MLB season without Clank Frazier, the Yankees’ outfielder, the subject of trade rumors.

That was the case over the weekend, when misrepresentations indicated that the Yankees had sent Frazier along with third baseman Miguel Andujar to the Reds for star pitcher Luis Castillo.

Both teams denied the reports.

The 26-year-old did the same, by tweeting the explicitly filled “I’m not leaving” scene from the 2013 film “Wolf of Wall Street,” in which the infamous stockbroker Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, says that despite his resignation he will not retire a FBI investigation.

Unlike in recent seasons, when his weighty defense and controversial comments led to trade speculation, Frazier may have reason to be confident of staying in The Bronx.

Frazier, who was originally set by the Yankees as an excellent prospect five years ago, played a crucial role for the club during the 60-game sprint last season while improving his defense to a Gold Glove finalist. Since Giancarlo Stanton is likely to be moved to DH and veteran Brett Gardner is still a free agent, Frazier could start next season against Aaron Judge.

On Friday, the Yankees and Frazier agreed on a $ 2.1 million one-year contract to avoid arbitration.
