Clemson fullback Derion Kendrick is no longer with the Tigers

CLEMSON, SC – Derion Kendrick, the starting corner of Clemson, is no longer part of the Tigers program.

A team spokesman confirmed Kendrick’s status Sunday.

Kendrick, a 6-foot-190-pound parent from Rock Hill, South Carolina, was a highly talented player who had multiple disciplines last season and did not play in three games.

After Kendrick did not play a win over Pittsburgh in November, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said: ‘Some people may say he’s in the doghouse. I would like to say he is in the love hut. Just a little discipline. ‘

Kendrick started eight of the nine games he played last season. He had 20 tackles and led the team with six break points. He also had a 66-yard recovery last December in a win over Virginia Tech.

Kendrick was named a full-back full-back of the first team.

Clemson began training with the spring on Wednesday. Kendrick becomes the second defensive starter of last year’s group, who finished 15th nationally with 326 yards per game.
