Clark County reports three new COVID-19 deaths

Clark County Public Health reported 47 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths Friday afternoon.

Two of the deaths are confirmed and one is suspected. A confirmed death means that COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death or a contributing factor on the death certificate, and the patient had a positive COVID-19 test, according to Public Health. An alleged death means that COVID-19 is not listed as a contributing factor on the death certificate, but that it was not excluded as a cause of death. The person died after testing positive for COVID-19 for the past 28 days.

The confirmed deaths were a man and a woman in their 70s with underlying health conditions. The alleged death was a woman older than 80 who had underlying health conditions.

One previously announced death was removed from the Clark County total after Public Health confirmed the man was a resident of another state.

There have been a total of 19,840 COVID-19 cases and 245 deaths in the country since March 2020, according to public health data.
