Clark County reported six deaths from COVID-19 on Friday, though the county ended the week with the fewest new cases since early October, according to Clark County Public Health.
According to Public Health, there were two men in their 50s, a woman in her 60s and a man and two women in their 80s or older. All had underlying health conditions. Their deaths bring the total number of COVID-19 to 219.
Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported this week, compared to 10 last week and 20 the previous week.
Public Health reported 37 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the province’s total to 17,987. 252 cases have been reported since February 12, averaging 36 per day. The weekly total was the lowest since 251 cases in the week ended October 9th.
There were 262 active COVID-19 cases still Friday in their isolation period, compared to 258 on Thursday, according to public health data.
Hospitalizations have fallen. There were 35 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Clark County on Friday, compared to 37 on Thursday. According to public health data, one person is in hospital awaiting the test results.
Public Health reported that 59.4 percent of the province’s licensed ICU beds were occupied on Friday, up from 78.1 percent on Thursday.
Daily information on administered vaccines is not available, but as of Monday, Clark County Public Health reported that 39,252 doses had been administered in Clark County, with 35,776 Clark County residents receiving one dose and 12,482 Clark County residents having two doses.
Clark County awarded 2,925 first doses and 8,275 second doses for the week of February 15-21.
