CIENCIA – Dominican students win prizes in NASA’s Rover Challenge

Dr. Liceo Scientific Students Miguel Canela Lázaro, of the province of Hermanas Mirabal, is one of the winners in the prestigious International Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) International Competition Edition.

The girls won the secondary division in the Taakuitdaging category thanks to the design and construction of a 3D printing tool for collecting water samples.

The Dominican team is integrated by Ashley Severino, Javier Mordan, Yerlin Duarte, Eydan Peña, Enmanuel Solano, Christopher Mercado, Guadalupe Bonilla, Darla Castillo, Melvin Núñez and Ilhen Duarte. The young girls as mentors to the professors Ender Araujo and Waldu González.
