Chvrches is back with a new single, “He Said She Said.” This is the first piece of new music by Chvrches since they released ‘Death Stranding’, their contribution to the eponymous Hideo Kojima game, already in 2019. Listen below.
‘He Said She Said’ was recorded almost entirely on both sides of the Atlantic, with the band members working with Zoom and with audio sharing software to collaborate. It comes three years after the release of the Scottish electronic trio’s most recent album Love is dead.
“‘He said she said’ is my way of taking into account things I accepted and that I know I should not have done,” Lauren Mayberry said in a statement. ‘All the lines are tongue-in-cheek or paraphrased versions of things men in my life have actually said to me. Being a woman is fucking exhausting and it feels better to scream it into a pop song than to shout it into nothingness. After the past year, I think we can all think about losing our head. ”
