Chrome OS gets a built-in screen recorder

Because they are often inexpensive, durable, and secure, Chromebooks are popular laptops in schools. Google wants to make them even more student-friendly and today announces a range of new features, along with a number of updates to its educational products. In addition to 40 new Chrome devices, the company also offers accessibility enhancements and a built-in screen recorder to the operating system.

The screensaver will arrive in March with the latest Chromebook update, which will make it easier for users to teach others how to do things. Although Google did not share details on what its 40 new devices are, it said it includes convertibles and offers things like touch screens, stylus support, dual cameras and LTE connectivity. Since there are going to be so many Chromebooks to choose from, the company has also introduced a new guide to choosing the right one for you.

In terms of improving accessibility, Google says its ChromeVox screen reader has new features for the operating system, including enhanced tutorials, the ability to search ChromeVox menus, and a smooth voice switch that automatically changes the screen reader’s voice based on the language of the text.

The company also enables parents to add their children’s school accounts (through the institution’s Workspace For Education) to their children’s personal accounts managed with Family Link. This way, students can log in to their school accounts at home and use the applications and websites they need, while still allowing their parents to set permissions for using devices and applications.
