The man who was caught on CCTV recordings and suffocated Filipino flight attendant Christine Dacera in a hotel corridor before she was found dead in a bathtub, claims Dacera started a kiss with me, according to a report.
Valentine Rosales, one of the 11 men suspected of 23-year-olds’ rape and murder on New Year’s Eve, also said she was typically flirtatious when she drank, reports the Philippine news agency GMA.
‘[S]he was the one who started the kiss with me, ”Rosales told GMA.
‘I tried to open the door. I ring the doorbell. She was the one who grabbed me.
“I rang the doorbell, but I ran away.
CCTV footage released Wednesday shows Dacera kissing a man in the hallway of the luxury hotel – where she later does not respond in the bath of her room.
GMA reported that a longer version of the footage shared on Rosales’ Facebook account shows him falling back from Dacera shortly after she moved.
Authorities identified 11 men celebrating the new year with the flight attendant and arrested three – only for prosecutors to release them later due to lack of evidence.
GMA also reported that Dacera’s body was later embalmed without her family’s permission – and before an autopsy could be performed.
Rommel Galido, another friend who is going to party with Dacera – and one of the three men briefly detained by police – told the news service that the flight attendant was sometimes “very naughty” when she got drunk.
But Galido told the Philippine Star that Dacera at one point told him she believed “someone was putting something in my drink.”
He said Dacera was later thrown up.
Another of the men detained, Dela Serna, told GMA that he carried Dacera back to her hotel room at around 4am on January 1 – and that an extended version of the hallway video shows her getting up and doorbell rings.
Makati police said the investigation into her death was continuing.
