Christina Ricci obtains a restraining order against her husband after ‘abuse’: reports

Christina Ricci granted a restraining order by a judge after she alleged that her estranged husband James Heerdegen insulted her, according to reports.

The former child actress, now 40, filed for divorce from Heerdegen, a Hollywood producer, six months ago, saying it was an irreconcilable difference.

The order protects Heerdegen from physical contact with Ricci. It orders Heerdegen to stay 100 meters away from the actress and that he cannot have visitation rights with the couple’s son, Freddie, 6. It also commands him to stay away from the family dog, reports People.

Ricci’s attorney and representative did not immediately respond to Fox News’ requests for comment.

Heerdegen ‘undeniably denies all allegations of abuse that occurred in 2020’, his lawyer Larry Bakman told TMZ.

Bakman – who did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment – said he intends to file a restraining order against Ricci “outlining her abusive behavior driven by alcohol and drug abuse.”

“His articles also contain documentation that Ms. Ricci advised law enforcement in December 2019 that there were no incidents of domestic violence between the couple, questioning her credibility,” Bakman added.

According to People, the “Casper” star claims in a court report that she endures “severe physical and emotional abuse” from Heerdegen. She noted that the couple’s son was present during ‘many’ of the abusive acts and feared for his danger as well as her own.

She claims that the abuse dates back to 2013 when she learned that she was pregnant and felt ‘extremely isolated’. She claims Heerdegen also made a remark to her during a holiday in New Zealand which led her that her husband ‘could kill me’.

“He said the only way he could feel sorry for me was if I was divided into small pieces,” Ricci wrote according to People. “That night I hid all the knives in the cabin where we were staying. I was scared for my life and the life of our son. I slept in a separate bedroom with Freddie and locked the door.”

She further claims that Heerdegen attacked her ‘cruelly’ on 16 December 2019 and that the abuse continued until 2020 during the closures of the coronavirus pandemic. The actress claims that Heerdegen last June “grabbed my wrists and hands, dragged them and hit my body in the fire pit.” Weeks later, she claims he spat on her and also threw coffee and a chair at her. At the time, she called 911 and received an emergency restraining order, the store reported.
