Chrissy Teigen opens her up about her sobriety.
The 35-year-old model took to Instagram on Wednesday to tell how Holly Whitaker’s book, “Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol,” contributed to her decision to become sober.
“One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” Teigen begins on her Instagram story.
“I was done with a donkey of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired for the day of drinking and feeling like 6 to 6, without being able to sleep,” she continued. “I’ve been sober ever since, and even if you can ‘t see that you’re doing it or just do not want to, it’s still an incredible read.’
Earlier this week, Teigen confirmed she had been sober for a month. After the unveiling, the cookbook author received a string of supportive messages from fans.
‘I just became sober !! Pretty!!! I like this !! “one commented on social media.
‘Keep up the good work! One day at a time, ‘replied another.
Teigen, the wife of singer John Legend, 42, has been having problems for the past few months and revealed in October that she is pregnant.
The couple, who share daughter Luna (4) and son Miles (2), honored their deceased son Jack with tattoos.
This is not the first time Teigen has talked about her drinking. In 2017, Teigen told Cosmopolitan that she ‘drank too much.
‘I got used to hair and makeup and drank a glass of wine. Then the glass of wine will be transferred to me with one before the awards. And then a bunch on the awards show. And then I felt bad for making people such a donkey that I really respect, ”Teigen said at the time.
