Chris Hemsworth turns out to be the strongest and most muscular he ever was when he filmed Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney.

But it turns out that the Marvel superhero has suffered a minor setback over the past few weeks and has suffered an acute back injury.

According to Sunday Confidential, Chris, 37, recently sought treatment in a private hospital on Queensland’s Gold Coast, near his home base in Byron Bay.

Chris continued with intense training for both his fourth Thor movie and an upcoming biography for the WWE wrestling royal Hulk Hogan.

According to the publication, it is unclear how Chris sustained the injury, but it appears he is recovering.

Chris’ severe back pain and swelling are believed to be seen by ‘specialist doctors’, who have given cortisone injections into the Australian actor’s back.

According to him, the hospital visit was kept short, and Chris was not expected to spend the night after the treatment.

Chris has previously spoken out about his back problems, after telling Men’s Health UK in March 2019 that he needed to change his training and nutrition to prevent the injuries from becoming a ‘draw’ during the training and filming of the Thor films.

Chris told the publication at the time: ‘On certain days, if I had a few injuries – and I had quite a few during Thor’s, it could start to get a little tense, you know? But over the past year, I have changed a lot of my training and nutrition program, and I feel the best I have ever felt. ‘

‘I realized that, after lifting weights for so long and not coming into contact with my fast-moving fiber, the funnyness that my body had [has gone]. In the father race last year at my child’s school I did not jump in about five years – then, boom, you’re going to do a 100m sprint on full skin. My back was tossed for weeks, ‘he admitted.

'I've had a few injuries - and I' ve had quite a few times during Thor - it's starting to get annoying ': Chris spoke earlier in an interview with Men's Health UK about his back problems.

‘I have to do another sprint, I think. It just hurts. Running is painful. For that reason, I do not run much. ‘I’d rather have mobility in my body when I navigate and get the fluidity I enjoy,’ ‘Chris said.

Chris and Spanish actress Elsa Pataky both currently have film commitments in Sydney for separate projects.

The Hollywood couple have so far managed to fly back and forth from New South Wales’ capital to their coastal town of Byron Bay to be on set with their three children between filming dates.

The flight takes about one hour and 15 minutes.

The couple, who share daughter India Rose (eight) and twin sons Sasha and Tristan (six), live in a $ 30 million mansion in Broken Head, near Byron Bay.
