Chris Harrison does not go without fighting.
The haunted ‘Bachelor’ host appeared in ‘Good Morning America’ on Thursday to say that his leave from the show does not necessarily mean a permanent retirement.
‘I plan to be back. I want to be back, “he said. “This interview is not the end of the line. There is a lot more work to do. ”
Last month, the 49-year-old Harrison resigned from his duties in the program of appointments after a controversial interview with Rachel Lindsay in which he admittedly spoke ‘in a way that racism continues’.
“I’m an imperfect man, I made a mistake and I own it,” co-anchor Michael Strahan told GMA. ‘I believe the mistake does not reflect who I am or what I stand for. I am committed to the progress, not only for myself but also for the franchise. ‘
ABC, which broadcasts both “The Bachelor” and “GMA,” did not announce whether Harrison’s leave of the show would turn into anything more, but he was replaced by former NFL player Emmanuel Acho as host of the upcoming “After the Final” Rose “special.
On ‘GMA’, Harrison also exploded parties with the theme “Old South”, which he defended for the first time after Lindsay called current contestant Rachael Kirkconnell to attend one in 2018.
“Parties in the antebellum are not OK,” he said. “Past, present, future, knowing what it represents is unacceptable.”
He also again apologized to 35-year-old Lindsay, as well as the black community, for his words.
Harrison made it clear that he was “not a victim” and said he was committed to making changes for himself and the ABC franchise in the future.
“I made a mistake and I own it,” he said. ‘Racism, oppression, these are big dynamic problems and it takes serious work. I’m dedicated to that job. ”
Harrison also said he worked with breed educator Dr. Eric Dyson, who taught him the idea of ’advice, do not cancel’. As a result, Harrison said he accepts “full responsibility” for his actions and he learns from the black community by listening.
