After the celebration of the first visit to the Congregational projects in the state of Puerto Rico, the Congresswoman Raúl Grijalva made sure that there is a large division in Iceland and in the Congress on the political future of the country.
The Committee on Natural Resources conducted a marathon visit in which the Projects of the Chamber of Deputies were discussed in 1522 — by the author of the Congress, Darren Soto, and the commissioner of the resident, Jenniffer González — and the project of 2070 — by the author of the Congress, Nydia Velázquez and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—. As part of this mid-term discussion, Grijalva made sure he consulted with President Biden’s administration Joe Biden to clarify the posture in the validity of the celebratory consultation in the November elections during the 52% election the votes. Asimismo, indicates that he filed a lawsuit against the Federal Justice Department and that he was speaking out against both legislative projects.

In his speech, Governor Pedro Pierluisi defended the results of the celebratory consultation in November and agreed that the Congress should repeal the 1522 project that would promote Puerto Rico’s administration as a state.
“This is not the moment for another long and complicated process for debating options. The electorate has expressed its clear form and it is time that the Congress accepts its results”, said the governor during his initial decision.
