Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes chases Tom Brady’s Super Bowl ring: ‘It’s going to be hard to do’

Quarterback Tom Brady plays in his 10th Super Bowl when the Buccaneers play the Kansas City Chiefs on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

What Brady has accomplished during his illustrious career is unmatched. No other player in the history of the NFL comes even close to what the future Hall of Famer has done in over 20 years. However, the player with the best chance of challenging Brady’s CV is the quarterback he will play in the Super Bowl in less than two weeks.

Leading player Patrick Mahomes won his first Super Bowl title last year, and many believe he will still be the future of the league. Mahomes, who appeared on 610 Kansas City Sports Radio’s “The Drive” on Monday, is looking forward to the opportunity to challenge Brady in Super Bowl LV.

“To go against Tom, all the success he has achieved, it’s going to be a special moment,” Mahomes said. “I am excited about the opportunity to go against the BOK.”

In three full seasons as a starter, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship in all three years. Last season, he made his first Super Bowl and led a comeback over the San Francisco 49ers, earning him the MVP award of the game. If Mahomes manages to win rugby titles, he will become the first full-back in league history to win two Super Bowls before turning 25 years old.

“Everything you do, you want to go in and be the most successful,” Mahomes said. “It’s going to be hard to do … To go to 10 Super Bowls, and you have six rings and all those different kinds of things. You have to understand that you have to go to work to do everything to that type of person to be and the best player you can be.

“For me, I understand the team I have around me, and the opportunity we have in this game, and we have to try to maximize it as best we can.”
