According to the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, a camera recording of the deadly police shooting on Adam Toledo (13), Chicago, was released on Thursday.
The footage related to Toledo’s shooting death on March 29 will include footage of body – worn cameras, videos of other parties and other footage, COPA said in a news release on Wednesday.
According to Cook County Medical Officer, Toledo died of a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers responded to an area on the West Side of Chicago after learning that shots were being detected by police-controlled technology. Toledo and a 21-year-old man fled on foot when confronted by police and an officer shot the teenager once, authorities said. The department described it as an armed confrontation.
A gun carrying the teenager was found at the scene, police said. Prosecutors allege Toledo had gunshot wounds to his hand.

The Police Liability Board initially said it was legally forbidden to release the video of the shooting because the teen was a minor, but that changed after Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and police warden David Brown requested that the video be released.
Lightfoot said Wednesday that she was watching the videos from the camera’s body camera. She declined to comment on the videos or describe them.
“I want respect for family, but I also think that a police shooting, especially under these circumstances, is important for us to be transparent,” the Chicago mayor told FOX 32.

COPA said in a statement on Wednesday that the video and other material would be released on Thursday.
“COPA has remained sensitive to the family’s grief and is doing this release in accordance with the City’s video release policy,” COPA said in a statement.
The footage is widely expected in the city after other videos of violent police rallies across the country caused civil unrest. The family praised the community for non-violent protests a day after watching video of the fatal police shooting.

“We appreciate the support of the community and are grateful that the events so far have remained peaceful,” the family said in a statement issued Wednesday by their attorneys.

According to police, the other person who fled for police officers was Ruben Roman Jr. Arrested on the basis of a violation of the fact that he was arrested.
