Chicago McDonald’s driveway turns into a horror scene after the 7-year-old girl was shot, and his father was injured

A Chicago father was seriously injured and his seven-year-old daughter was killed by gunfire while sitting in a driveway at a McDonald’s on Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the father as 29-year-old Jontae Adams and his daughter as Jaslyn.

The shooting happened at about 4:18 p.m. local time in the Homan Square neighborhood of Windy City, in the 3200 block of W. Roosevelt, Chicago police told Fox News.

A McDonald’s employee who asked not to be named told the Chicago Sun-Times that two people got into a gray car and started shooting at Adams’ car.

Police said the two victims were in a vehicle near a parking lot “when they heard gunshots and felt pain.”

Police said the girl, who has three siblings, was beaten several times on the body and the father was beaten on the upper body.

A video shot by a bystander at the scene shows officers removing the victims from the car. The moment officers pulled the seven-year-old girl off the passenger side, a person outside the camera could be heard shouting, “Oh s —! They killed a baby!”

A police unit at the scene transported the father and daughter to John Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The police are in a serious condition.

The exact circumstances of the shooting remain unclear. Chicago’s Fox 32 showed in the McDonald’s parking lot cordoned off.

No suspects have been arrested and detectives in the area are investigating, Chicago police told Fox News.

Jaslyn’s aunt, Tawny McMullen, said her niece was ‘beautiful’ and a ‘very sweet child’. She added that her daughter and Jaslyn were best friends.

Jaslyn’s grandmother, Lawanda McMullen, told the Sun-Times that Jaslyn likes to dance and make TikTok videos.
