Chicago Bears sign former 49ers Bills WR Marquise Goodwin on a one-year deal

His most productive NFL game remains a 126-yard performance with two attacks in a 2018 loss to the Packers in Green Bay.

Goodwin was traded to the Eagles by the 49ers last April. But he never played for Philadelphia and did not choose the 2020 season. Due to a stipulation in the trade, his rights returned to the 49ers last month, and he was released by San Francisco.

Goodwin represented the United States as a long jumper during the 2012 Summer Olympics, an event in which he won two national college championships while attending Texas.

Last month, for the first time since 2016, Goodwin competed in the long jump and won the event at the Florida International Pro Addition with a jump of 26 feet, 7¾ inches. His jump was an Olympic qualifying point this year and the fourth longest in the world.

Goodwin is the eighth player to join the Bears on another NFL team since the start of the new league year on March 17th. He follows quarterback Andy Dalton (Cowboys) and runs back Damien Williams (Chiefs), attacking linebacker Elijah Wilkinson. (Broncos), defensive line Angelo Blackson (Cardinals), linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (Broncos), linebacker Christian Jones (Lions) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (Lions).
