Chet Hanks accused of physical, emotional abuse in $ 1 million suit

It is my particular displeasure to announce that “White Boy Summer” arrived suspiciously early. I say suspicious because Chet Hanks, the architect of this damned concept, dropped a person of the same name immediately after his ex, Kiana Parker, filed a $ 1 million lawsuit, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse. When Parker and her legal team convened a press conference on Tuesday, claiming that it was an “increasing pattern of domestic violence” that Parker said she experienced during her meeting with Hanks, he pushed the release date for his new music video. “Fuck it,” he wrote on Instagram. “I would wait until Friday, but because you show so much love, #WhiteBoySummer falls today at 6 p.m.”

Quite a strange timing, in my personal opinion! But let’s look step by step:

In an Instagram post shared late last month, Tom Hanks’ rapper son sampled him over the feeling that he was on the verge of a “white boy summer”. “Take it as you please,” he said. ‘I’m not talking about Trump, you know, white of the NASCAR type. I’m talking about, you know, me, Jon B., a white son of Jack Harlow. Let me know if you can agree with that. ‘But while some people have found it in themselves to agree with Hanks’ vision, others feel that the premise sounds uncomfortable near white supremacy. But then there is a man who is not known for his cultural sensitivity: his controversies in the past include the use (and defense of his use of) the N-word, and for some reason in patois talk.

Hanks then made it clear in a video that ‘any prejudice against anyone of a different background, race, [or] walk of life ”was the opposite of the“ white boy summer ”ethos. A “White boy summer,” according to the artist formerly known as “Chet Haze,” was also a “Black queen summer.” But when he released his first series of merchandise – made up in a Gothic font, not unlike the style favored by white nationalists – some observed that the general impression felt ‘aggressively racist’.

Surprise, surprise – Hanks announced shortly afterwards a drop in the clothing of the “Black Queen”. And to really round off the brand, he also made a music video for his ‘white boy summer’ single (?) Which he teased on Instagram. He apparently planned to share it with the world on April 16, before raising the release date yesterday.

While it was all unfolding – within three days – details also began to emerge about the relationship between Hanks and Parker, a black woman. The couple apparently started seeing each other in March 2019, but divorced in January 2021 when Parker obtained a restraining order against Hanks, claiming that he had repeatedly become violent towards her during arguments. Hanks, in turn, denied any wrongdoing and, according to TMZ, filed a lawsuit against Parker for assault, battery and theft. (The Cut could not track down the case in the Fort Bend County shootings.) The tabloid newspaper also released a video that Hanks apparently filmed on his phone during an Jan. 8 incident at their home in Sugar Land, Texas. In the footage, Hanks claims that Parker “attacked him with a knife” (she says she did not do so), stole his belongings and demanded thousands of dollars on his credit cards.

Parker’s memory of the encounter is clearly different. She says Hanks threatened her with a knife when she arrived at his home with movers to collect her belongings. She also claims that Hanks pushed her and attacked her outside. Hanks’ lawyer, Marty Singer, tells People: “Her claims are completely false, fabricated and fictional.”

According to the Daily Beast, Parker’s lawyers convened a press conference in Richmond, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon. There, Advocate D’Angelo Lowe Hanks accused him of making a mockery of black women in the criminal justice system by announcing that it was going to be a ‘white boy summer’ and ‘a black queen summer’ while knowing that he mentally and physically abused. a black queen. ‘

In the case, Parker specifically points to two alleged incidents in October and December last year. In the former, she says she was with Hanks in New Orleans when they started fighting. According to court documents, Hanks’ Parker grabbed her wrist and pulled her forcefully towards himself ‘by’ using a stiff and painful grip ‘while he’ claims[ing] they go back to the [hotel] room. “Later, back in the hotel, Parker claims that he ‘became aggressive and hostile’.

“I was lying in bed and he started verbally harassing me and pushing me hard and saying, ‘I will not despise him, he was in control, he would not allow it to happen to our mother and father’s relationship with us. did not happen ‘. and other things, ”she said in an affidavit filed with the petitioner for a restriction. When she tried to leave, he grabbed her ‘with great force by taking care of her right arm, and defensively she started swinging’, according to the lawsuit. He allegedly overturned tables and threw a bottle at Parker, eventually breaking her phone and chasing him out of the room in his boxers, trying to drag her back by the arm, she says. Parker says Hanks threatened to jump off the balcony and told her that no one would believe a ‘ghetto black bitch’ about him.

Parker also says they had an argument in December 2020 in which Hanks allegedly threatened to “blow up” [her] brains out. “A few days later, he apparently indicated that he ‘does not want to live and will also blow out his brain’. She allegedly hid his gun and broke up with him in January. When she returned on January 8 to fetch her goods, she said he started following her through the house and tried to fight. “While I was packing the kitchen, Chet came in and put his hand on a knife that was lying on the worktop,” she said in the statement. ‘He came to me, and I picked up a pot and swung it in the air in front of me and let it run away to the door. He rushed after me and grabbed me by my wrist. I pulled up and was able to get away and run out of the house. He got even angrier and made a growling noise as he chased after me. “After he got outside, the case says, ‘Hanks kicked Parker’s legs and dropped her when he dragged her across the sidewalk. … Hanks pulls Parker by her right arm. Parker felt her arm come in and out of place. ”

“We consider the claims filed by Kiana Parker to be an abomination,” Singer, Hanks’ attorney, said in a statement to the Daily Beast. “Her allegations are completely false, fabricated and fictional.”

The Daily Beast reported within about an hour of Parker’s press conference that Hanks had posted his video for ‘White Boy Summer’, which – if you remember – was officially scheduled for release on Friday. In another Instagram video in which Hanks wears a shirt with the caption “Black Queen Summer”, Hanks declared that his season has officially started.

Whatever the cause, Hanks has been particularly active on social media for the past 24 hours. In another post last night, Hanks urged his fans: “DONT BELIEVE THE #FAKENEWS,” presumably referring to Parker’s complaint.
