Check out the latest rumors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series

The Samsung Galaxy S series is again the first smartphone series of the new year. According to AppleInsider, we can see that the three new phones will be launched on January 14 with the release taking place in February. The entry-level Galaxy S21 can be equipped with a 6.2-inch screen. The Galaxy S21 +, the middle phone in the set of three, is said to have a 6.7-inch screen and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S21 Ultra has a slightly larger 6.8-inch screen.

Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S21 series

Allegedly, the resolution on the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21 is + 1080 x 2220 (FHD +) with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 on both phones. Reportedly, the Galaxy S21 Ultra screen will weigh 1440 x 2960 (WQHD +). This gives the device an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 that matches the other two models. The two FHD + units have a 120Hz refresh rate that updates the screen 120 times per second; although it is definitely a battery leader, the Galaxy 21 Ultra may have a version of the 120Hz refresh rate that varies depending on the content displayed on the screen. While video games, browsing, animation, and other content can be enhanced with a fast refresh rate, the feature with more static rates uses nothing more than to reduce the battery life of the device in use. Having a dynamic refresh rate can save the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Again Samsung is expected to equip its first flagships with a punch hole camera up front. Selfie snappers from the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 + should each weigh 10MP, while the more expensive Galaxy S21 Ultra’s front camera can use a 40MP sensor. Based on versions, it would appear that Sammy includes the camera collision in the body of the phone in the upper left corner at the back. If true, this is a clever move on the part of the manufacturer. For the Galaxy S21 +, it is said that the wide and ultra wide sensors are both 12MP, while the telephoto camera uses 64MP. A Time or Flight depth sensor that boasts on the Galaxy S20 + will apparently be missing on the Galaxy S21 +.

As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it looks like the main sensor will be 108MP which will use 9: 1 binning in an effort to deliver sharp, clear 12MP images. To enhance the telephoto capabilities of the top-of-the-line Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung is hiring a second man. And by man we mean a camera. Two 10MP snappers are expected to handle the telephoto tasks for the device; one will include optical zoom up to 3x, while the other offers optical zoom up to 10x.

It is speculated that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 + with storage options of 128 GB and 256 GB. The Galaxy S21 Ultra will presumably contain the two options, along with a 512 GB range. And so far, leaked specs have revealed the lack of a microSD slot, suggesting that the Galaxy S line may not be an expandable storage option this year.

We can not discuss Samsung’s upcoming flagships without filling in a word for the S Pen. From what we’ve seen so far, S Pen support comes to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. When we mention support, we mean that the digital pen on the screen can be used. However, there is no ‘home’ to store the accessory as on the Galaxy Note models.

As for 5G, the trio of new phones should support both low-band (sub-6 GHz) and high-band (mmWave) signals. In the states, this means that the phones will work on the main carrier’s coast-to-coast networks that provide 5G signals with not much improvement over 4G LTE data speeds. And they will also at this stage deliver much faster high-band 5G signals that are available in only limited parts of the country.

And speaking of a battery hog like 5G, the rumored battery capacity for the new flagships is 4000mAh, 4800mAh and 5000mAh respectively for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Depending on where the phones are purchased, it will be powered by the homemade Exynos 2100 or the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
