Check out Ram TRX Drag Race Sleeper V8 Rusty Truck

Of course, it is clear that the sons of Hoonigan popularized the YouTube drag race trend, but each variation carries the same excitement. As such, The Fast Lane Truck recently started a series where they set up the Ram TRX against a tough competition. So far, the TRX – which still remains unbeaten in the series – has vehicles like the previous generation Ford Raptor pickup and even a GT500 Mustang, but the latest video could put an end to it.

Sure, the competition might look just like any old International Harvester pickup. However, this example is the mother of all sleepers when it comes to trucks.

From the outside it may look just like any other 54 ‘International, but like every sleeper all the goodies are under the skin. As such, the body sits on a 2000 Chevy Silverado chassis – which is apparently surprisingly well connected to the original truck. It keeps the same Chevy engine with a number of mods included, but not limited to a turbocharger, Z06 cam and new rod bolts.

Apart from the semantics, the first race showed that the TRX should focus its work on keeping its unbeaten record; even after a bad start, the International underdog kept within a car length of the Ram. The next run was much more predictable with the start of the International at the start, but still ended behind the competition – we would not want to say that the International is also a four-wheel drive.

Since the guys seem to be running much less than a quarter of a mile, we want to bet that a driver mode or longer tow strip can yield a very different result. Regardless, it’s clear that both of these trucks are heaps of fun to drive on the border.
