Dave Chappelle says he got what he wanted from Comedy Central – millions of dollars, and rights to his show – so “Chappelle’s Show” is now back on Netflix … with his blessing.
Dave shared a bit of his recent stand-up Thursday night in which he revealed that the show returned on Friday … just two months after Netflix pronounced it on his command.
On stage, Chappelle summed up his power struggle with Comedy Central to get paid for any “Chappelle’s Show” performances they made … and he gave all the credit to fans for not watching the show at his request.
Dave said … “When you stopped watching, they called me. And I got my name back and I got my license back and got my show back and they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much.”
Dave greeted his fans with appreciation for putting him back after his twelve-year hiatus from comedy, which he said ‘kept me free’.
He also gave props to some performances at Netflix and ViacomCBS – which owns Comedy Central – and added … ‘Finally, I can finally say to Comedy Central:’ It was a pleasure doing business with you. . ‘”
