CDPHE cannot verify COVID-19 vaccines that are available at a clinic in Colorado Springs, dr. Moma Health and Wellness, not given

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Everyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine at one Colorado Springs clinic is notified of new guidance as the investigation continues.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE) announced Friday that Dr. Moma Health and Wellness Clinic in El Paso County is currently suspended for the COVID vaccination program. CDPHE reported on Tuesday that they could not confirm whether the vaccines previously administered at the site were viable because the supplier could not provide the proper documentation of the temperature storage.

The suspension had an effect on about 7,000 appointments. It is not clear how many people have recently received a vaccine at the clinic.

CDPHE has consulted the Centers for Disease Control and recommends the following:

For people taking one dose at the Dr. Moma Health and Wellness Clinic received:

If you are taking one dose of Pfizer vaccine with a Dr. Received Moma Vaccination Clinic, the dose is considered invalid and you must receive two additional doses of Pfizer vaccine according to the time frames below:

-Additional dose of Pfizer 21 days after your initial invalid Pfizer dose at Dr. Moma was received,

and final dose of Pfizer 21 days later (eg 21 days after your repeated valid dose)

If you are taking one dose of Moderna vaccine with a Dr. Received from Moma Vaccination Clinic, the dose is considered invalid and you must receive two additional doses of Moderna vaccine according to the time frames below:

-Additional dose of Moderna 28 days after your initial invalid dose of Moderna by Dr. Moma was received, and

-Final dose Moderna 28 days later (eg 28 days after your repeated valid dose)

** If you do not know what vaccine you received from a Dr. Moma Vaccination Clinic, you should receive two additional doses of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine according to the time frames below:

-Additional dose of Moderna or Pfizer 28 days after your initial invalid mRNA dose at Dr. Moma was received, and

Final dose of Moderna or Pfizer 28 days later (eg 28 days after your repeated valid dose)

Records show that most patients received only one dose at the site, but for people taking two doses in the Dr. Moma Health and Wellness Clinic, the CDC and CDPHE recommend:

-If you have received two doses of Pfizer vaccine from a Dr. Moma Vaccination Clinic, these doses are considered invalid and you must receive one additional dose of Pfizer vaccine at least 21 days after your last dose of COVID-19.

-If you have received two doses of Moderna vaccine from a Dr. Moma Vaccination Clinic, these doses are considered invalid and you must receive another dose of Moderna vaccine at least 28 days after your last dose of COVID-19.

-If you do not know what vaccine you received from a Dr. Moma Vaccination Clinic, you must receive one extra dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at least 28 days after your last dose of COVID-19.

Due to a lack of clinical data, the CDC does not recommend that people receive more than three doses of any COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of its validity, “reads a statement from the State Joint Information Center.
