The hackers behind this week’s ransomware attack on Cyberpunk 2077 studio CD Projekt Red apparently found a buyer for the stolen data. They hosted an auction on a hacking forum, but like The edge notice, they closed it after allegedly accepting an offer from elsewhere.

The starting price for the auction is apparently $ 1 million and there was the option for an interested party with an extra $ 7 million to buy the data straight. It is not clear who obtained the data, how much they paid for it or what they plan to do with the information.
The hackers allegedly hated the source code Cyberpunk 2077, a version not yet released The Witcher 3 and other games, as well as legal, human resources and financial documents. CDPR said it would not pay or negotiate with the attackers, even if it meant hackers may have disclosed the data to the public.
Although the ransom shut down some devices on CDPR’s network, the studio was able to begin recovering data from its backup. It also said that systems containing personal data of its players and users are not affected as desired.
