CCHD drops mask mandate for Cascade County

BIG FALSE – The Cascade City-County Health Department in Great Falls announced Wednesday afternoon that Cascade County is maintaining a COVID-19 rate of equal to or less than 10 per 100,000 for the second consecutive week.

As set out in the Order of Health Officer of February 17, 2021, two weeks at this rate was the trigger to lift COVID-19 restrictions in Cascade County. This week, the CCHD said the country had fallen to a rate of 9.6 per 100,000.

As a result, and immediately effective, the mask mandate and 75% capacity restrictions on events and gatherings were lifted.

The CCHD noted: ‘Although the limitation of opportunity size and the mask mandate are no longer in force, it is critical that our community members remember what brought us to this point: social distance, wearing face masks, limited capacity and other common sense practices such as regular hand washing and staying home when you are sick. These best practices have led to our daily fall rate falling to the current level, and CCHD still recommends that these practices be applied. “

The CCHD also said that businesses, schools and other agencies still have the right to need masks for customers and visitors.
