Cayuga Health opens two more COVID-19 sampling centers

ITHACA, NY – Cayuga Health announced on December 31 that it will open two more COVID-19 test facilities in Ithaca and Cortland on Monday, January 4th.

The additional locations are being opened to support greater demand for testing in the area. They will both perform saliva-based tests, after which the stores at the Ithaca Mall sampling site recently switched from a deep nose, which has been doing so for months.

Ithaca’s new location will be in Cayuga Medical Center near the back entrance of the hospital, while the Cortland premises are located in Gutchess Park in Cortlandville. Both sites will be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are still required to receive a test, and can be scheduled at www.cayugahealth.org.

All other Cayuga health sampling sites will remain open.

“We will continue to expand our sampling and testing functions to meet the needs of our communities and the surrounding area,” said Dr. Martin Stallone, President and CEO of Cayuga Health. “Increased testing slows distribution of COVID-19 and it is our commitment to do everything in our power for our communities during this time. ”
