Catherine Zeta-Jones comes on board as a series that regularly appears on Fox’s prodigal son for season 2

With Fox’s prodigal son returning to premiere on January 12 with the first season, the series will get a new addition to the cast later this season.

According to a press release from Fox, Catherine Zeta-Jones for the regular role of dr. Vivian Capshaw signed up.

The 51-year-old actress is working with Michael Sheen, who also hails from her native Wales and will make her debut in the ‘last half of the season’.

In the second season, dr. Martin Whitly of Sheen assigned to military service, where he met Capshaw.

Capshaw, “delights in the commission of ‘The Surgeon’ to clean beds and wipe the floor, ‘according to the official description.

Surprisingly, Capshaw sees Whitley ‘becoming valuable in treating patients’ as she begins, ‘seeing him in a new light … which is not a good thing.’

Prodigal Son will return on Tuesday, January 12 at 9:00 PM ET on Fox for its second season in a new night.

The show was the new series no. 1 that would appear last fall, with an average of 9.3 million multi-platform viewers.

The show follows Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne), a criminal with a rare talent for getting murderers’ minds inside.

He learned how to think, because his father, Martin Whitly, was a notorious serial killer known as ‘The Surgeon’.

Now he is using his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve their most bizarre murders.

Also starring in the show are Aurora Perrineau as Detective Dani Powell, JT Tarmel as Detective Frank Harts and Keiko Agena as Doctor Edrisa Tanaka.

The second season takes place with Malcolm trying to look after his sister Ainsley (Halston Sage) while his mother Jessica (Bellamy Young) is protected from a secret that could tear the family apart.

The season also follows Martin as he ‘tries to deepen his relationship with Bright, his prodigal son, but forging this bond leads to shocking twists and revelations.’
