Cases for coronavirus in Michigan up to 610,580; The death toll now stands at 15,783

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan rose from Monday to 610,580, including 15,783 deaths, state officials reported.

Monday’s update contains a total of 3,143 new cases and nine additional deaths. On Saturday, the state reported 607,437 cases and 15,774 deaths.

An average of about 35,000 diagnostic tests were reported per day, with a positive rate of 7 days above 5% from Saturday. The state has reported a slight increase in hospitalizations over the past two weeks.

Michigan’s 7-day moving average for daily business was Saturday, 1626 – an increase from last week. The 7-day mortality rate was Saturday 21. The state mortality rate is 2.6%. The state also reports ‘active cases’ listed at 35,000 on Saturday – almost the lowest since October. More than 556,000 recovered in Michigan.

Michigan has more than reported 2.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered, from Friday.

According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 29.4 million cases reported in US., with more than 534,900 deaths of the virus reported.

Worldwide, more than 119.9 million people have been confirmed infected and more than 2.6 million dead. More than 68 million recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University. The true numbers are certainly much higher, due to limited tests, countries pick up the dead in various ways and deliberate underreporting by some governments.
