Carl Icahn nominates former GE CEO Kekedjian to lead Icahn Enterprises: WSJ

Carl Icahn has appointed Aris Kekedjian, former CEO of General Electric, to take the lead at his namesake investment firm, Icahn Enterprises.

Kcedjian, the chief investment officer of GE until 2019, will take over as CEO and chief operating officer of Icahn Enterprises on Monday, Icahn said.

Icahn said Keith Cozza, the firm’s current CEO, and SungHwan Cho, the chief financial officer. He said one reason for the departure is the move of the firm to Florida from New York. The newspaper reported that Icahn Enterprises would appoint a new chief financial officer in the future on an unspecified date.

Icahn Enterprises and Kekedjian did not immediately return requests for comment from CNBC.

Icahn Enterprises is a holding company with significant investments in energy, automobiles, real estate and other sectors.

The company is publicly traded and has a market capitalization of more than $ 13 billion. Icahn, 85, chairman of Icahn Enterprises, is expected to eventually hand over the company’s leadership to his son, Brett.
