A 35-year-old teacher in England was sentenced on Friday to six years and two months in prison for having an illegal sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.
Convicted Kandice Barber, a married mother of three, will also serve a 16-month sentence for ‘causing a child under 16 to watch sexual activity through a confidant’ and a ten-month sentence ‘sexual communication’ ‘according to the BBC, along with her six-year sentence.
Barber sent nudity and a live video of herself a sex act to the student, the store reported. In one incident, she allegedly lured him to a private field where the two had sexual intercourse. Barber also threatened to ensure the student ‘goes with her’ if their relationship is revealed, reports The Independent.

“I have no doubt that you acted in a serious breach of trust. “You exploited a child in your care and cared for him for your own sexual gratification,” the judge apparently told Barber. (RELATED: New Jersey Police Arrested in Atlantic City for Trying to Meet Underage Girls for Sex)
Barber must inform police of her personal details and address for the rest of her life, as required by an order to prevent sexual harm, reports the BBC. Barber is also facing a ban on working with minors or ‘vulnerable adults’, according to the outlet.
Proponents of child abuse victims have warned in April 2020 about the increase in abuse, rape and incest, due to coronavirus closures.
