Cardi B’s standout single Bodak Yellow is officially a certified diamond, making her the first solo woman in rap to achieve such an achievement. The tremendous achievement was celebrated by a number of forces in the music industry, including Kodak Black, a man who strongly influenced the flow and title of the single. The track interpolates Kodak’s flow into ‘No Flockin’.

While Cardi has always given Kodak the honor he deserves for inspiring her diamond-certified single, the star had to tidy up a few things on Twitter when a fan checked on her and asked why Kodak did not get any money from the song.

“He got credit for the song,” she explained on Twitter. “WE are both getting rich with the song until we die. The song is called Bodak Yellow for a reason. You can say the dumbest thing on this app.” The post was shared on DJ Akademiks’ popular blog page on Instagram, where Kodak Black dropped a ‘like’. The original tweet was accompanied by a screenshot of a HotNewHipHop article from a few years ago, in which Kodak praised the superstar rapper. “These are my twins,” he said in January 2019, suggesting that if Cardi wins, he wins too.

Cardi B also addressed her relationship with WAP collaborator Megan Thee Stallion in a recent interview, explaining that she was ‘too ashamed’ to contact the rapper for almost a full year.

Congratulations to Cardi B on starting diamond. And also congratulations to Kodak for recognizing a diamond single!
