Cardi B says it ‘feels good to be free’ after settling a 2-year, $ 30 million lawsuit with her former manager … with the case ‘fired with prejudice’

Cardi B has finally put an end to a two-year $ 30 million legal battle with its former manager Klenord ‘Shaft’ Raphael, while the whole case is being ‘dismissed with prejudice’.

“This action, including all claims and counterclaims, is hereby dismissed in its entirety to the detriment of all parties,” reads the December 24 court documents obtained by AllHipHop on Sunday.

This means that Shaft’s lawsuit in 2018 and Cardi’s lawsuit cannot be brought back to court at any stage in the future.

Shaft and Cardi also agreed to pay all their own legal feelings, with court documents reading: “The parties further agreed that all parties to this action will bear their own costs and attorneys’ fees.”

The 28-year-old rapper celebrated the end of her legal misery with Shaft and wrote: “Felt it was going to be free.”

Shaft, who claims to have discovered the WAP hitmaker in 2015 and secured her a spot on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop, filed a $ 10 million breach of contract against her in April 2018.

The former manager of Cardi specifically claimed that she had abandoned their agreement to sign with Atlanta-based management company Quality Control, which also represents her rap group Migos, her husband Offset.

In response, Cardi and her attorneys filed a $ 30 million counterclaim in July 2018, alleging that Shaft had entered into a ‘unilateral’ and ‘unfair’ management agreement with her since signing it without an attorney, according to TMZ and AllHipHop.

According to the opposition, Shaft received a ‘20% commission’, but is trying to get even more commission for Cardi’s music publishing for Sony. “Cardi says he demanded 50% of the deal.”

The Bodak Yellow rapper also suggested that Shaft try to control aspects of her personal life, such as her romantic relationship with her current husband Offset (28).

He allegedly “set barriers between her and people close to her in an attempt to maintain full control over her” and told her “who she should and should not see romantically”, according to documentation obtained by TMZ in 2018 .

The legal battle between the two, which lasted for more than two years, ‘allegedly’ snatched up Cardi’s recording career – and millions of royalties due to her label Atlantic Records ‘during the period’, as reported by AllHipHop.
