Captain Marvel 2 will address the relationship between Monica and Carol

WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris has revealed that Captain Marvel 2 will reveal more details about Monica and Carol’s relationship issues during an interview.

When asked during an interview whether the tension between her character Monica and Captain Marvel in WandaVision will “be explained to the public sooner or later”, Parris told ET Canada: “As you know, I was announced at the cast of Captain Marvel 2 with Brie Larson and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. “She added cautiously, ‘I do believe we’ll look into that relationship more and what’s going on with the two. ‘

The interviewer paused, but Parris remained adamant about any further details about the tension between the two characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In WandaVisionIn Episode 5, “On a Very Special Episode …”, FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park), dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and Rambeau discuss which Avenger Thanos could take out on their own. While Rambeau insisted that Wanda almost deal with it herself, the other raised Carol Danvers’ name. The conversation takes an awkward pause, while Darcy makes an awkward face towards Jimmy.

While Parris has not confirmed why the tension is there or when it started, the two characters will spend time together again Captain Marvel 2. At the time of this writing, it is unclear what year the sequel will be filmed. Avengers: Endgame was in 2023 and played Captain Marvel while her original story was set in 1995, leaving decades of time for a sequel to play alongside Monica and Carol’s relationship dynamics.

Parris earlier responded to rumors that Monica had become the new Captain Marvel in the MCU, noting: “Monica Rambeau has kept a lot of monikers over the decades and I think they were all very special in a very specific way.” Parris added: “I do not know how or who she is going to be in the MCU. Because if I tell you, she changes her names and kicks them all in.”
