U.S. Capitol police confirmed Friday night that a second officer injured in Friday’s car crash in Washington is in a stable condition and is not life-threatening.
“UPDATE: The other USCP officer hit by the car is in a stable and unthreatening condition,” Capitol police announced in a tweet from the force’s official Twitter manual.

The update comes after the force announced that William “Billy” Evans, a Capitol police officer, had died when a man, allegedly identified as Noah Green, crashed a car into a barrier at the Capitol.
Green was later shot dead by police as he got out of the car and allegedly jumped on responding officers with a knife.
The injured officer has yet to be identified.
The car and knife attack on Friday less than three months after the riot on Capitol Hill on January 6.
Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick died of his injuries after coming into contact with the pro-Trump mob, while two other police officers at the scene later died by suicide.
Lawmakers said throughout the day that they keep the Capitol police officers in mind.

“We express our sincere condolences to Officer Evans’ family, and to all who mourn his loss. “We know how difficult it was for the Capitol, everyone who works there, and those who protect it,” Biden said earlier Friday.
