Cape Coral, Florida – Joe Coviello, Mayor of Cape Coral, died suddenly on Wednesday morning, according to a councilor.
The city warns other members of the Cape coral and city leaders.
Plans to replace his post have not yet been finalized.
The City of Cape Coral announced a statement on Wednesday morning:
It is with deep sadness and sadness that we confirm that Mayor Joe Coviello passed away unexpectedly today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Diane, his two sons, Ross and Alex, and the rest of his family.
We ask you to respect the privacy of his family while mourning their loss.
Mayor Coviello was elected in November 2017 and was a pillar of the community and served the citizens of Cape Coral with dignity and respect. His passing was due to an unexpected medical incident, and any further details will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
