Capcom Announces Resident Evil Village Showcase for January 21

Capcom plans a major Resident Evil outbreak on January 21, with new information about Resident Evil Village, the next major entry in the franchise for survival horror games. Next Thursday, the Resident Evil Showcase promises a ‘guided tour’ of Resident Evil Village, which means a new trailer and our first look at the game.

The Resident Evil Showcase airs January 21 at 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST. Capcom will stream the event on Twitch, YouTube Twitter, a Facebook channel. The showcase is hosted by Brittney Brombacher of What’s Good Games, and appears from Resident Evil Village manufacturers Peter Fabiano and Tsuyoshi Kanda.

The showcase also promises more news about the Resident Evil franchise, as in 2021 – the 25th anniversary of the original Resident Evil – promises to be a big year for Capcom’s horror series. In addition to a new video game, a new, original Resident Evil animated series is called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is coming to Netflix in 2021, and a new live-action movie is expected to hit theaters.

Capcom is also teasing a new title announcement during the event. A closed beta test for an unannounced multiplayer game related to the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil is coming, according to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to the official Resident Evil website. The beta period lasts January 28-30.

Resident Evil Village comes to PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Although Capcom has not yet announced an official release date, a leak resulting from a corporate attack on the company has an April 2021 time frame revealed.
