Can Raiders sign free agencies of Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Soon, the glow of winning the Super Bowl for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will fade as the reality of the NFL’s never-ending business meal begins.

The Buccaneers have eight free throws (which is a lot) and JoeBuc.com reports that the teams aim to retain five or six of the key players.

Maybe the Raiders can take advantage of the Buccaneers’ free agency and trade and steal a player.

The best free agents in Tampa Bay are:

  • Edge rusher Shaq Barrett
  • Defensive suit Ndamukong Suh
  • Wide receiver Chris Godwin
  • The tight end Rob Gronkowski
  • Linebacker Lavonte David
  • Recipient Antonio Brown (yes, we know)
  • Behind Leonard Fournette
  • Skopper Ryan Succop

Barrett or Godwin will likely receive the franchise label (teams can start using it Tuesday), but the player not marked by Tampa Bay is likely to be too rich for the Raiders’ budget. I would knock both of those out of the picture for Las Vegas, even if Barrett and Goodwin fit well.

There is also no way in hell that the Raiders and Brown will reunite!

So let’s look at the other options.

Gronkowski will be a lot of fun in Las Vegas, but with Darren Waller and Forster Moreau, I do not see the need. On top of that, I can not see Gronk leaving Tom Brady.

David will probably be too expensive and the Raiders do not need Succop as they are delighted with kicker Daniel Carlson.

That leaves Suh and Fournette out of this group.

I could see that both fit the Raiders. They could use a big backup behind Josh Jacobs, and he would add a dimension to the Las Vegas offense.

The Raiders were interested in Suh three years ago (Jon Gruden’s first off-season with the team) and Suh would fit very well. He would change the tone of the Las Vegas defense. But he seems to be a priority in Tampa Bay and he never comes cheap.

But with the possible flood in Tampa Bay, I think it’s wise for this community to keep an eye on both Suh and Fournette.
