With the completion of the Oregon Ducks Pro Day yesterday afternoon, every potential 2021 NFL Draft first round prospect healthy enough to take part in a pro day, it did. The rumors are now spinning around where the offensive approach, Penei Sewell, one of the concept’s highest prospects, ends up in the first round of the NFL draft.
Penei Sewell gives a high rating, but can he fall on the draft day?
With a few exceptions, Penei Sewell is classified as a top five player moves to the concept. He is currently ranked as the third overall prospect on me big plate here at Pro Football Network. Because of his own fault, Sewell could potentially fall out of the top 10.
With five backs likely to be pushed into the draft’s initial ten picks, along with three wide receivers, possibly one corner, and a tight end Kyle Pitts, Sewell may be the strange man. As foolish as it would be, in my opinion it is a possibility that must be accepted.
Which teams are considering setting up Sewell next month?
So where can the top-rated left attack fall? After Talking to People in Eugene, Oregon Pro day, here’s what I’ve been collecting since Friday night.
The belief is that quarterbacks are likely to be 1-2-3-4 in draft form. If the Hawks do not take a signal caller with the fourth pick, they are expected to pick Pitts. That’s why we start at number 5 in the Cincinnati Bengals.
5) Cincinnati Bengals
Most felt that the Bengals would eventually set up Sewell, if they left today’s training session. They were pleased with what they saw today, especially offensive coach Frank Pollack, who coached Sewell during position exercises.
Sewell also fills in the gap to protect the team’s franchise full-back Joe Burrow, who is suffering from a serious knee injury. But what if the Bengals pass Sewell and take a passer like Ja’Marr Chase?
6) Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins concept Sewell is beyond doubt. If they all surprise and adopt Sewell, a source told me during the practice session that the belief is that Miami will move Austin Jackson, their second pick in the first round in April last year, to the right and keep Sewell on the left.
7) Detroit Lions
As Sewell and Ja’Marr Chase available, Chase will likely be the choice. If it’s just Sewell, the scales are in his favor as Detroit’s choice.
8) Carolina Panthers
The Panthers want a quarterback, but if the options are not there, Sewell will be hard to give up if available.
9) Denver Broncos
That was the only loud “no” I got on Sewell. Garett Bolles has finally lived up to expectations, and Ja’Wuan James is back after choosing the 2021 season.
10) Dallas Cowboys
I was told straight up: “The Cowboys will take over Sewell if their corner line is not available.”
11) New York Giants
That was another loud “yes” to Sewell’s drafting. There was no speculation as to where he would act as the Giants select Andrew Thomas with fourth pick last April.
12) Philadelphia Eagles
There was no definite yes or no in this spot, but the feeling today is that the Eagles will consider Sewell due to Andre Dillard’s inability to stay healthy and live up to expectations.
13) Los Angeles Chargers
I was told the Chargers would be very happy if Sewell fell into their shots, no surprise there.
Things can and will change over the next three and a half weeks, but it’s interesting to see how much speculation there was about where one of the best prospects of the concept could land.
Austin Faoliu and Jordan Scott also take part in Oregon Pro Day
Two of Sewell’s teammates, defensive linemen Austin Faoliu and Jordan Scott, were unable to compete on Friday due to leg problems. Faoliu pulled badly on the thigh muscle last week and has not been ready for at least a month. Therefore, he does not practice before the concept.

Scott had a calf strain a few weeks ago and was not cleaned. He plans to practice on April 20 in Naples, Florida, where he trained.
Both players are classified as latecomers on my board.
