California Regional Homes Lights Up at Home – Virus Remains “Widespread” in San Mateo County

25 January 2021
Redwood City –
California this morning lifted the “Regional Stay At Home Order” across the state – a welcome step for local businesses that have been allowed to expand some indoor and outdoor operations.

Immediately effective, outdoor dining and personal services can be resumed with the necessary amendments in San Mateo County. The county does not impose additional local restrictions and remains in line with the state.

With certain restrictions lifted, the country returns to purple Tier 1 in the state four-level, color-coded system for loosening and tightening restrictions. The purple Tier 1 is the most restrictive, as the COVID-19 virus is considered ‘widespread’ in the community.

“This is encouraging news, but we should note to the public that COVID-19 is still widespread, as nearly 420,000 Americans have died from the virus in less than a year,” said David J. Canepa, president of the San, said. Board of Supervisors of Mateo County.

“That said, I’m ready to enjoy an outdoor meal again and definitely need a visit to the barber,” he said. ‘It’s a big sigh of relief for our struggling small businesses, but we have a way of getting quiet before life gets normal. Science and data tell us that the distribution of the masks is worn. So I’ll repeat, wear your damn masks. ‘

The state lifted the mandate, as the Bay Area’s intensive care unit (ICU) capacity of four weeks is higher than 15 percent, the threshold by which regions can leave the order.

The Limited home order, which restricts non-essential activities between the times of 22:00 and 05:00, expires with the end of the local home order.

The county of San Mateo follows all applicable restrictions and guidelines in California COVID-19 and is fully in line with the state’s Blueprint for a safer economy.

  • Maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet
  • Wash hands regularly
  • Avoid gatherings and mix with other households
  • Follow all state and local health department guidelines and get the vaccine when it’s your turn.
