California parents tear up school board members who resigned after being caught mocking their parents

California parents responded Saturday that members of the Oakley School Board resigned after being caught mocking parents and others who insisted on having classrooms reopened.

‘One of my biggest concerns is that we’re seeing it drag on for a long time. [the point] what I’m worried about – by the time my kids are ready to go in next year – is school going to be normal again? “Thomas Will, an Oakley resident, told Fox & Friends.”

Will was accompanied by Claudine Zambrana, another concerned parent in the city.

Will said the extension of the school closure due to the coronavirus is a fear many parents have. He also accused the school board of not ‘listening’ to the parents.

“I think we should all take this step back and realize how shocking it is that there has been no real progress in returning to personal learning because we are seeing it around,” he said. “Private schools are back. My daughter goes to a private kindergarten. She taught herself.”

ENTIRE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL COUNCIL DECIDES TO MOCKET PARENTS ON SCHOOL REOPENINGS

The president and three other members of the Northern California School Board resigned Friday after reports that they made mocking remarks about parents during a public video meeting about reopening schools.

The resignation of President Lisa Brizendine of the Oakley Union Elementary School District was confirmed by Fox Superintendent Greg Hetrick to Fox News.

The other members – Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas – who make up the rest of the board, resigned later Friday, reports FOX 2 of the Bay.

Hetrick on Thursday apologized for what he described as the “really inappropriate remarks” of the board members, which were made during a virtual meeting on Wednesday. A group has released a video of the meeting showing board members complaining about parents wanting teachers to return to classrooms.

Will stressed that he had seen children ‘virtual education’ and ‘virtual recess with an adult supervising the activity’, saying public schools should have found a way to make school work during the coronavirus pandemic .

“Why does not a public school go back? I think the video shows why. Not because we can not, but because we have a school board that does not have the interest of children in their heart and they do not want the feedback of parents, ”Will said.

Will went on to say, “And we are not going back to school because we can not, but we are going back to school because no one really wants to bother because we have seen it elsewhere.”
