The blast shook homes in the area.
According to the city and fire department, a “large amount” of fireworks at a home ignited a “large structural fire” and a reported explosion in Ontario, California.
“Explosions currently being heard have been caused by fireworks,” city officials tweeted. “Stay away from the area.”
One resident, whose house was shaking, thought it was an earthquake. Another neighbor told ABC station KABC in Los Angeles that the blast broke their windows.
One man told KABC he saw people running and screaming.
Ontario is about 65 miles east of Los Angeles.
