California City Fences Outside COVID Challenging Restaurant

A city has erected a fence outside a restaurant that repeatedly disregards coronavirus health orders, a report said.

The fence was installed outside Tinhorn Flats Saloon & Grill in Burbank on Saturday after a court ordered the company to shut off electricity, according to an NBC report in Los Angeles.

The eatery has been fined nearly $ 50,000 since the onset of the pandemic for violating public health orders, which, according to the Los Angeles Times, allowed outdoor dining during a ban on the practice.

A judge ruled Friday that the restaurant could not reopen without new permits.

The city had previously placed sandbags outside the business in an effort to keep them closed.

But on Tuesday, Lucas Lepejian, the restaurant owner’s 20-year-old son, was arrested for allegedly removing the obstacles.

The owner of the restaurant, Baret Lepejian, told the Times he would not pay the fines.

“Show me one bit of evidence how I endanger the public,” he told the newspaper.

“It’s never been about security or the public. It’s never been about that. “It’s all about fear and control,” he said.
