Authorities in California are investigating the case of a person who died hours after receiving a vaccine for Covid-19 last week.
According to a statement posted by the sheriff’s office on Facebook, the Sheriff’s Office and the Public Health Department of Placer County were recently notified of the vaccination and death.
It is not clear which vaccine the person received or whether the vaccine played a role in their death.
“We are not calling any vaccine,” said a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office, adding that an autopsy was planned. “We ask the public to remain patient with us as this investigation continues so that we can hopefully gain more clarity.”
Spokesmen for the sheriff, coroner and public health in Placer County said they could not release more information about the incident.
