Cal-Maine Foods – Cal-Maine Foods made a surprising profit for its fiscal second quarter, increasing its share by more than 2% after-hours trading. The company earned $ 257.3 million in revenue of 25 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected a loss of 8 cents per share on revenue of $ 333.5 million. The company’s egg dose sales grew by 4.6% year-on-year.

Myriad Genetics – Shares of biotechnology company up nearly 2% on news Myriad will explore ‘strategic alternatives’ to its autoimmune industry. The company is also restructuring its international operations.

Smart Global Holdings – Smart Global achieved better-than-expected fiscal earnings per share in the first quarter, increasing its share of the computer memory by 2.4%. Smart Global reported adjusted earnings per share of 78 cents, and topped a FactSet estimate of 70 cents per share. The company also issued better than expected revenue list for the current quarter.

Nektar Therapeutics – Nektar shares fell about 1% after the company announced that dr. Brian Kotzin will take over as interim medical chief, taking effect immediately and replacing the current CMO Wei Lin.
