Buy and play these Super Mario games before they go away

Over the past year, Nintendo has released several Mario games to celebrate the auspicious mascot’s 35th birthday, but two of them –Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35—Only available until 31 March. After that, both of the Nintendo Switch eShop will be removed, as well as physical copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars will go out of print. No one knows if Nintendo will release these titles again.

For Super Mario 3D All-Stars (which collects Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy in one game), you can still play the game if you own it physically or digitally. The pattern will always work and the digital version can still be downloaded to your Switch even after it has been removed from the eShop. Although you will no longer be able to buy the eShop version, you can in copy boxes of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars online and in stores – though you may pay more for it. Expect new and used copies to rise in price once production ceases.

Fortunately, there are in box copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars is slightly discounted at the time of writing. Instead of the normal $ 60, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is on sale for $ 50 at Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy. We do not know how long the sale price will last (Nintendo games are rarely offered for sale), so take it now better before your stock dries up. As for the digital version, it’s still the full $ 60 in the eShop – but buying it now ensures that you do not have to look for an overpriced copy later.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for the free competitive multiplayer game, Super Mario Bros. 35. It will be removed from the eShop on March 31st and Nintendo will shut down the servers immediately. Since the game is only online, you can no longer play it.

For those who have not tried it, Super Mario Bros. 35 puts a competitive twist on the classic NES Super Mario Bros., where players play through the original levels, but each enemy you step on is sent into the game by another player. The last player to stand wins the match. It was launched on October 1, 2020, so it was only playable for six months. If you are interested in trying out the game, download it and play it before March 31st.

Nintendo also released Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Wrath on Switch, and the original added Super Mario All-Stars for the collection of free SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers for Mario’s 35th, but it will remain available after March 31st.
