Yesterday, Bungie announced some big plans over the next few years, including new offices, new games and a new leadership team that is apparently in charge of establishing the Destiny 2 universe in other media.

‘[O]one of the key drivers for Bungie’s expansion is its commitment to the long-term development of Destiny 2, tells new stories in the Destiny Universe, and creates completely new worlds in IPs that have yet to be announced, ”the studio wrote on its website.

In material terms, the expansion includes a large new head office that effectively sounds like a mini-university campus, an international office in Amsterdam focused on publishing and marketing, and new people brought on board at executive and board level, including the appointment of former Viacom CBS president of consumer products, Pamela Kaufman. As an aspiration, Bungie wants the “Destiny Universe in additional media, ”and releases a brand new game before 2025. Bungie previously announced it is working on a new non-Destiny game as part of a $ 100 million publication agreement with Chinese gaming company NetEase.

Previously synonymous with Halo, Bungie has spent most of the past decade running the Destiny company. It seems that the independent studio wants to double the trend while also developing new projects. Last year, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith has announced a multi-year plan to continue the game’s annual expansions rather than Destiny 3, a move that came after the studio finally severed ties with publisher Activision.

It all seems in line with the ten-year vision originally set out for the first time. Destiny, which at the timePete Parsons, chief operating officer of Bungie (and now CEO), said it was part of the effort to turn the IP in the game version of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. DestinyIt’s always been a great movie game, with voice talents ranging from Peter Dinklage and Gina Torres to Nathan Fillion and Lance Reddick. It seems that the perfect time for the world it ‘is set to be brought into TV or film, especially in Hollywood to adapt every video game to fill the bottomless appetite for new content.
