Bullet time stunt FPS Severed Steel looks stylish

I do not know what you call a 360 degree no-scope, where it actually rotates two 180 degrees on different axes. Dang impressive? Let’s go with it. Stylish Dwarfing and Moving FPS Severed Steel looks like it could be one of those that will do in slow glory if you are seduced by a tower of bad things. A new trailer shows all the turbulent chaos you will get into as Steel the vengeful sharpshooter.

Severed Steel was inspired by other first person’s em ups such as Mirror’s Edge and FEAR. The single-player adventure has devastating environments and many bullet-time tricks to play with over circles around the bad stuff. Oh, but you can not recharge. No, you’ll have to get a new gun when you run out.

“It’s you, your trigger finger and a steel stand against a buildup full of bad guys,” says Greylock Studios. “Chain wall runs, dive, turn and move to take down every last enemy.” You can catch it all, and kick some people in the face, in this trailer.

“I want Severed Steel players to give a feel to entering a current state within a chaotic environment,” says developer Matt Larrabee. “I want them to dive through the air, just a few rounds in their magazine, with bullets passing, rockets tearing the environment, but they feel if they stay sharp, they can get to the top.”

It does indeed look like a delicious mess. Sliding down the stairs and jumping over the counters and over enemies is one thing. However, when it blows through walls, it sounds like a recipe for silly AI absent screens.

Severed Steel plans to launch in the second half of 2021. You can find it on Steam until then.
