Bucs GM Jason Licht has an epic response to the daughter of Lombardi Trophy designer apologizing

If Lorraine Grohs apologizes for Tom Brady’s handling of the Lombardi Trophy during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl parade last week, she will certainly not get it from Jason Licht, general manager.

Light, like almost every person on the internet, saw the viral video of Grohs, the daughter of the silversmith who produced the original Vince Lombardi trophy, saying she felt it was ‘dishonored and despised’ when Brady took the trophy from his boat to other Bucs players on another boat.

“It really upset me that this trophy was violated and despised by being thrown as if it were real football,” she said in the video posted Saturday. “I have not slept the last two nights, I was so upset. Because I know the passion that this trophy contains.”

She continued: “I personally want to apologize, not only to me and my family, and also to the other silversmiths, but also to the fans.”

Licht directly commented on the video posted on Twitter with a GIF of the popular 1981 Bill Murray movie, “Stripes”.

“Relieve Francis,” read the message.

This is certainly not the first time that the Lombardi trophy has been in less favorable situations.

After winning the Super Bowl in 2019 with the New England Patriots, Rob Gronkowski celebrated with his team when he used the trophy as a bat and hit a quick one by teammate Julian Edelman, and the award has done.

Even after the Bucs victory, he even joked that this was the reason why he had not yet been able to achieve the trophy.

The Bucs celebrated their first Super Bowl victory since 2003, and Licht, his first since taking over in 2014.
