Buckingham Palace issues first statement since interviewing Harry and Meghan

Buckingham Palace issued its first statement on Tuesday since Prince Harry and Meghan’s shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey. Queen Elizabeth says in it: “The whole family is sad to learn how extensive the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”

“The issues raised in particular are important,” the statement continued. “While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very beloved family members.”

While the interview was broadcast in the US on Sunday, it was only broadcast in Britain on Monday night.

Meghan said in the interview that there were a number of conversations among the royal family about ‘how dark’ their baby’s skin would be. Oprah confirmed to CBS This Morning that Harry was leading the talks did not involve Queen Elizabeth or her husband, Prince Philip.

This is a breaking story. It will be updated.
