Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic Drop ‘Leave the Door Open’

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak joined forces for the new band Silk Sonic and they released their video for their first single. ‘Leave the Door Open’ appears on Silk Sonic’s upcoming album they announced last week.

In the retro-vibed video directed by Mars and Florent Dechard, the group performs the smooth slow jam in a studio. The pair trade verses and harmonize with their accompaniment band on the Mars-led choir: “I leave the door open / I leave the door open, girl,” they sing. “I leave the door open and hope / that you feel the way I feel / and you want me the way I want you tonight, baby / tell me you’re through.”

Mars and .Paak did not share much detail about Silk Sonic’s upcoming album, although they did reveal that it contains ‘special host Bootsy Collins’. The couple previously worked together in 2017 to tour together during the European leg of Mars’ 24K magic world tour.

Last year, Mars teamed up with Charlie Wilson for “Forever Valentine,” which Mars co-wrote and produced, along with backing vocals. The singer has also entered into an agreement with Disney to develop an upcoming music film in which he will play and produce. Mars drops his third studio album, 24K Magic, in 2016.

.Paak released several singles in 2020, including ‘Jewelz’, ‘Lockdown’ and his remix with a verse by Noname, and Trolls World Tour track “Don’t Slack” with Justin Timberlake. His most recent album, Ventura, was released in 2019.
